Sean Plouffe

Hi! My name is Sean Plouffe and I’m a highschool student from Massachusetts. I have a strong passion for STEM, especially chemistry, engineering, computer science, and math. My academic goal is to major in Computer Science in college,  with a minor in Statistics or Data Science. 

I decided to come to Old Colony because of its strong Computer Science program. My interests in Computer Science began at a young age when I first discovered Minecraft creators like StampyLongHead, which sparked an interest in videogames, which developed into a passion for game design. While I originally wanted to be a Minecraft developer, my dream has expanded into a broad curiosity about all things from video game creations to software development and engineering. 

Outside the classroom, I have experience in hardware as well as software. Along with developing 2D and 3D games in Unity, I also enjoy building and maintaining my own computer. My current computer was built from scratch and runs on Debian Linux. I value open-source and copyleft software and strongly believe in its advantages for security, privacy, and innovation.
